The exhibition of paintings from the collection of Zachęta – National Gallery of Art in Warsaw prepared for the National Forum of Music in Wrocław includes works by artists using various languages of abstraction, from the 1960s to the beginning of the 21st century. The selected works by artists from several generations, representing the most important trends in non-figurative painting in Polish art – such as biomorphic, geometric or colour abstraction – show the rich potential of this language of artistic expression, for which the starting point was a simple, yet radical gesture of moving away from figuration. Works painted based on conceptual reflection, reflection on the world of nature and emotional experiences bring us closer to individual aspects of learning, discovering and experiencing the world.
