Oskar Dawicki is a visual artist and performer known for his works and performances marked by irony and the grotesque. The film’s title was used as the title for the exhibition of works from the collection. The film shows a looped, repeated image of the artist’s face streaming with tears. But instead of flowing in the usual downward direction, the tears in this trance-like scene flow upwards, perhaps to distinguish them from tears of sadness. This gives the impression that the artist has succeeded in overcoming gravity. The facial expressions and the tears flowing in the opposite direction create a strong emotional effect, indicating not only happiness but also enclosed areas of despair, alienation or the inability to release emotions – states where the laws of physics do not apply. The tears are bitter expressing bittersweet experiences. The music for the film was composed by Paweł Mykietyn.
Sound description: Calm music, played in a loop, reminiscent of gentle sea waves.
