The Platform was shot with a hidden camera by an oil platform worker. Like in The Weavers (2009), presenting the industrial landscape of Silesia, the artist highlights here a workplace that poses an environmental as well as occupational hazard. Offshore platform workers experience tough and dangerous working conditions, and their life while on the platform is a kind of limbo. Zachęta co-produced the film, and following the Brussels exhibition Common Affairs the artist donated it to our collection.
