A pulse, a breath, a look, a confession. An area of constantly constructed relations. Maps of intersections of forces and affects. Sensibilities, sensualities, intimacies. An absence of constant distances. Being in constant movement from passivity to activity. An unending series of metamorphoses and mutations. An endlessly changing landscape. Becoming. Pursuing. Transformation.
The starting point of the performance is the creative work of Louise Bourgeois — a kind of tender, intimate dialogue with the viewer. They are works that explore carnality and eroticism, sketches which are a visual record of the transitional states, later processed in the form of sculptures and installations. Bourgeois used the motif of a spiral as the picture of transformation, being in constant motion, a conscious taking on of form and its rejection. For her, the spiral was the medium for a variety of emotions – from fear, tension and anger to hope. She interpreted the opposing directions encoded inside the spiral as an inward turn, signifying tension and withdrawal, as well as an outward one, representing the gesture of giving, trust and positive energy.
