This exhibition is one of the events accompanying the 40th anniversary of the Faculty of Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. It will present the works of the Faculty’s founders: Jerzy Sołtan, Lech Tomaszewski, and Andrzej Jan Wróblewski. Their legacy was an important voice and had an artistic, design and theoretical character, not only in Poland, but also in the international arena – despite the Iron Curtain. In the contemporary design environment, the artists remain very much alive and inspiring, and the quality of their works steps ahead of their time, being surprisingly innovative and relevant. Their work will be presented in a broader context, including both the Faculty of Design itself and its sources in the history of the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts.
