The film is a poetic manifesto drawing on lesbian and queer declarations — Radicallesbians (The Woman Identified Woman, 1970), The Lesbian Avengers (Dyke Manifesto, 1992), Queer Nation (The Queer Nation Manifesto, 1990). Translated and modified by the artist, excerpts from these declarations form a collage that relates their experiences to contemporary social reality. By revealing the workings of heterosexual privilege, the artist encourages a rethinking of one’s place in a world dominated by patriarchal norms. The work also calls for empathy, solidarity and attention to others.
